Money Mentor: Web Platform for Financial Support and Advice

About the Client

By simplifying complex financial topics, this project aimed to provide financial support and advice to a larger audience. People always appreciate money tips and tricks, whether it’s for saving for a pension, renewing auto insurance, or paying rent or mortgage.

The entire concept behind Money Mentor was provided by the client. To achieve this vision, the Q team developed a custom WordPress theme, WordPress plugins, and a third-party product feed integration for Fairer Finance.

Discovery

The whole idea behind The Times Money Mentor came from talking to their readers and listening to their everyday challenges. It comes down to one thing: wanting to put themselves in a better financial situation in life.

The main goal was to demystify money and finances in general and make the process of learning more interesting and relevant to readers. The Times team came to Q with the idea to create something new on the market, a web app that would help readers feel more confident and encourage them to make smarter decisions.

Design

From initial workshops and extensive research, the Money Mentors design team came up with an ideal UX & UI design for the web app. They realised that well-structured content provides a seamless user flow throughout the app.

Development

As part of this project, Q developed more than 40 custom blocks, and new blocks are still being developed. Blocks can be used for many purposes, from displaying surveys to displaying top-rated products to financial calculators and tools.

The implementation of this solution took our team only two months, but we have been working with Money Mentor for almost three years. Throughout the life cycle of the app, we continue to improve and maintain it.

End Result

Money Mentor reviews hundreds of financial products, from insurance and credit cards to pensions and ISAs. Their goal is to provide users with financial knowledge and assist them in making the right financial decisions.
