Based in Geneva, HARVN Labs is building AI-powered coaching products designed to help people slow down, think clearly, and reflect with structure — positioning their B2C HARVN Life app as an ethical, multilingual AI for clear thinking, designed and hosted in Switzerland.
In the HARVN case study, you will learn how their first product, HARVN Life, is a consumer app focused on private, personalised AI coaching for mental clarity and wellbeing, available on both Apple Store and Google Play.Next, with our help as their main tech partner, we’re preparing HARVN Pro, a B2B offering aimed at managers and teams — bringing the same coaching depth into organisations.

Nowadays, uncertainty is everywhere, and complexity has become the norm, leaving many leaders and individuals struggling to think clearly. The initial HARVN app idea started as a “coach for coaches,” but the vision quickly broadened into a digital “sparring partner” — a tool to challenge assumptions, add fresh perspectives, and support better decisions without fear of judgment.
The HARVN team has for a long time had strong expertise in business logic, psychology, and coaching frameworks, but not the in-house technical capability to build the product. They needed an advanced AI solution that could function across Azure AI, Google Play and Apple App Store, but local Swiss talent was either unavailable or came at a price point outside the budget.
Our partners needed more than a typical dev shop, but rather a partner who could turn psychological nuance into code. After an extensive search and competitive RFP process, the HARVN chose Q for our fast responsiveness, professionalism, and ability to provide a cohesive team rather than individual freelancers.

For HARVN, the design approach focused on clarity, trust, and guided interaction. Since the product is AI-driven, special attention was given to making complex functionality feel intuitive and safe for end users.
We designed a clean, distraction-free interface with strong typographic hierarchy, clear feedback states, and transparent system messaging. The goal was to reduce cognitive load while maintaining full visibility into AI-generated outputs and system actions.
HARVN backend is built using FastAPI with a modular and scalable architecture. The system integrates AI services, streaming responses, authentication flows, structured logging, and environment isolation across development, staging, and production environments. The platform uses PostgreSQL for data persistence and follows strict configuration management practices, including secure secret handling andenvironment-specific deployments to ensure stability and maintainability.
The web platform was developed using React with a component-driven architecture. The application supports real-time AI streaming responses, structured data rendering, authentication flows, and responsive layouts. Special attention was given to performance, state management, and clear separation between UI components and business logic. The system was signed to scale alongside backend AI capabilities and future feature expansion.
The mobile application was developed in Flutter to provide a cross-platform experience for iOS and Android. The app integrates AI interactions, voice capabilities, authentication, and secure API communication. Mobile-specific considerations included performance optimization, secure token handling, platform permissions management, and maintaining UX consistency with the web experience.
A key part of HARVN is its AI orchestration layer. We implemented a structured prompt framework and controlled output formatting to ensure reliable, production-safe AI interactions. Development was carried out in close collaboration with the client’s domain experts. We designed a controlled prompt layer that allowed domain-specific knowledge to be injected and continuously refined based on real-world expertise. This ensured that AI outputs were aligned with industry standards, internal processes, and business context, rather than remaining generic responses.
The platform was deployed on Azure infrastructure with region-specific configuration to ensure data residency within the client’s country. File storage, processing, and AI interactions were configured in alignment with security and compliance requirements, ensuring that sensitive data remained within controlled geographic boundaries. Environment separation, secure secret management, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and monitoring mechanisms were implemented to maintain a robust and enterprise-grade system.

To address the full spectrum of mental wellness, the solution is architected into two complementary products:
A core differentiator of our client in the implementation is Swiss Privacy. The architecture was built to ensure that, particularly for the B2B product, no performance KPIs or private data are ever shared with HR.
This “zero-knowledge” approach ensures users feel safe enough to be honest, which is critical for the AI to provide genuine value.
The development process is characterised by a “one team” atmosphere. Q’s team doesn’t just execute tickets; they adopted the product as their own, often referring to it as “our product”.
This deep engagement allows for flexibility — when cost constraints arose, Q’s management and legal teams managed to work creatively to adjust the team size without stalling progress.
The result is a sleek, dark-mode interface designed to offer clarity through conversation and calm through structure.
With over 1000 downloads and active users in the first month post-launch, Harvn Life is gaining real traction in its earliest phase, supporting people as they untangle mental noise, regain clarity, and turn reflection into actionable insight.
Although HARVN Life app (B2C) is in its launch phase, early testing has validated the core value proposition:
The app successfully acts as an intelligent mirror. Testers report that it reduces confusion, calms anxiety, and reveals blind spots, allowing them to regain control over their spiraling thoughts.

The collaboration has also helped the business pivot strategically. Recognizing that B2C adoption requires significant time to build trust, the company is now rolling out the B2B offering,HARVN Pro, to generate immediate value for organisations while the consumer brand grows.
Early feedback on HARVN Pro from a large enterprise client highlighted massive potential for efficiency. The AI engine helps close the gap between theoretical management training and practical application, effectively reducing the training hours required while increasing the impact on everyday team situations.

One major lesson was that the customer journey is “a science” that requires constant iteration. The team learned that building trust in the mental wellness space takes time and that the initial assumptions about user acquisition paths needed to evolve.
The founders, Jean-Claude and Stefano, highlighted that the success of the project relied heavily on the unique dynamic of both HARVN’s and Q’s team.

“Q’s deliverable quality in response to the RFP was amazing, and we appreciated the teamwork atmosphere during calls! And now, the next steps ahead of us focus on bringing the apps to market and scaling revenue to support the company’s further growth.”

“The Q team members often refer to HARVN as ‘our product’ and truly enjoyed developing it from scratch. It isn’t just a provider relationship; they feel like part of the HARVN team.”
“A major lesson is that building a product takes time. In the IT and AI space, you expect rapid results, but you have to balance agility with patience to avoid hitting a wall.”
